After weeks of intense international baseball action, the United States and Venezuela will meet in the championship game. The United States was considered one of the favorites to win the entire tournament, but Venezuela proved in the finals that they could hang with the top teams, even if they looked like underdogs on paper.
Team USA will start Nolan McLean in the finals. MacLean faced the Italian team in pool play, performed poorly and ultimately lost the match. Venezuela will start left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez. Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher starts game against Dominican Republic. He pitched 2.2 innings, allowing three runs on three hits, walking one and striking out five.
