Tyler Glasnow continued his stride toward pitching in the Dodgers’ first-round series, pitching in the fifth inning of Tuesday’s 4-1 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks at Camelback Ranch.
Glasnow allowed a home run to Diamondbacks outfielder and leadoff hitter Jordan Laural on the second pitch of the game, but was otherwise stingy. He allowed only 1 more hit (1 hit) and 1 hit, and struck out 5, and he was so efficient that he even faced (and retired) a batter in the fifth inning, reaching his pitching limit. Glasnow needed 60 pitches to complete his 4 1/3 innings, just nine more than he used in 2 2/3 innings against Mexico last Wednesday.

He is the first Dodger pitcher to pitch more than three innings in a Cactus League game this spring.

Roki Sasaki had a B game today at Camelback Ranch to continue his training after mixed results in his first two Cactus League outings. Regardless of the performance, the Dodgers had faith in Sasaki from the start, so it was no surprise that he made the Opening Day roster. From Sonja Chen of MLB.com:
Sasaki struck out nine White Sox minor leaguers, and Jack Harris of the California Post noted that “his fastball command still looks a little shaky at times.”

Manager Dave Roberts also said of Sasaki, per David Vassegh of Dodger Talk , “I bet the performance will go up.”
Also of note on Tuesday, Brock Stewart held a bullpen session at Camelback Ranch on Tuesday morning. Stewart will not be ready for Opening Day after undergoing shoulder surgery in October. But he’s already starting to take part in bullpen sessions, at least getting him noticed, and if all goes well, he could be added to the roster sometime in early to mid-April.
