Two Texas A&M stars named Perfect Game Preseason All‑Americans

Texas A&M fans won’t spend much energy discussing the NCAA baseball preseason rankings this winter, and understandably so. After a disappointing 2025 campaign, the focus in college towns has shifted from predictions to progress. But if there’s one area where preseason rosters still matter, it’s prospect rankings. They provide a window into the talent level in the field, and the Aggies are once again positioned to showcase future MLB-level players.

Despite not yet reaching the pinnacle of college baseball, Texas A&M is still recruiting and developing elite hitters. This trend should continue into the 2026 MLB Draft, and Perfect Game’s preseason All-American teams reflect that trend. Two Aggies — one a homegrown standout and one a high-profile transfer — are recognized as two of the top offensive threats in the country.

Here are Texas A&M’s 2026 National Preseason All-Star lineups.

Caden Sorrell – Junior – Outfield

Caden Sorrell’s 2025 season never really got off the ground. He played in fewer than 30 games due to a hamstring injury and hand problems, which prevented him from finding a consistent rhythm. But when he Was Healthy, he looks nothing like the player who earned preseason All-SEC second-team honors.

In 26 games, Sorrell slashed .337/.430/.739 with 32 hits, 31 RBIs, and 12 home runs — an elite level performance in limited opportunities. His combination of power, on-base ability and athleticism gives the Aggies a proven middle-of-the-pack bat, and a fully healthy Sorrell should be a regular in the lineup on Opening Day.

Chris Hacopian – Youth – Infield

Texas A&M’s biggest offseason addition brings one of the most complete offensive profiles in college baseball. Chris Hacopian transferred after a breakout sophomore season at Maryland, where he hit .375/.502/.656 with 14 homers and a 40-to-19 walk-to-strike ratio. His hitting tool is his calling card, but his power is at least average and should perform well at third base — which could be his home thanks to strong instincts and reliable hands.

Hakopian missed fall ball while recuperating from an injury, but is expected to be ready for Opening Day. His summer performance in the Cape Cod League further solidified his status as one of the best hitters in the country. He ranked in the top 10 in hits (32), doubles (6) and triples (1), and in the top 20 in RBIs (16), batting average (.274), slugging (.393) and OPS (.739). Hacopian is an immediate stabilizer for an Aggie lineup looking for consistency.

With Opening Day roughly six weeks away, here are the key dates on the Aggies’ preseason calendar:
