Two new games based on the popular horror series Halloween are reportedly in development. The games are produced by Boss Team Games, the studio that previously published Evil Dead: The Game, a survival horror game based on the Evil Dead series. Details about both games are sparse, but the games have a website that currently only offers a subscription form to provide updates to interested players.
Halloween video game adaptation
According to IGN, the two new games will be adapted from director John Carpenter’s 1978 horror classic “Halloween.” Boss Team Games is reportedly working with the producers of the Halloween movie series to develop the game.
There are currently no details on the official titles or release schedules for either game, but the official website https://halloweengame.com/ has a subscription form for interested players to get updates on the titles. The site also mentions Compass International Pictures, Further Front Publishing, and Boss Team Games, which own the rights to the Halloween franchise.
One of the two Halloween games will reportedly be built using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5 and produced in partnership with Carpenter. Reports say the visionary horror director will be “closely involved” in the project.
“As a huge gamer myself, I’m excited to bring Michael Myers back to life in this game and I hope it scares the crap out of you,” Carpenter was quoted as saying.
According to reports, both games will allow players to relive iconic moments from the movies and play as popular characters. While the report doesn’t mention how long the development cycle for either game is, it claims that the Unreal Engine 5 project is still in its early stages of development.
Boss Team Games, which focuses primarily on video games based on existing franchises, released Evil Dead: The Game, an asymmetrical survival horror game developed by Saber Interactive in 2022. The game is based on Sam Raimi’s popular Evil Dead series and is released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X. The studio also released Cobra Kai: Card Fighter, a mobile game released in 2021 on Android and iOS.
