In another disappointing landing spot for a first-round pick, Cooper Jr. joins Kenyon Sadiq in a Jets offense that suddenly has a lot to feed.

Cooper was one of my favorite players before the draft, but it’s hard to get excited about his short-term potential in New York. As mentioned in Sadiq’s section above, the Jets have Garrett Wilson, Bryce Hall and Adonai Mitchell, as well as tight ends Sadiq and Mason Taylor.

This is a decent group of skill position players who could be stuck in an offense that struggles to support more than a few guys and doesn’t allow anyone to reach their peak. Geno Smith has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders and he’s coming off a disappointing season in Vegas.

For now, I’m lowering Cooper’s rankings into more of a boom-or-bust flex range for redraft purposes while lighting a candle to his dynasty prospects as a late first-round pick.

Prospect introduction: Cooper is a versatile receiver with excellent contact balance and a large catch radius for his size.

He fought for every yard after the catch, pushing and dodging defenders along the way.

The 22-year-old is also a smooth mover and strong ball-carrier. While that’s a lofty high-end comparison, there are shades of Deebo Samuel Sr. and a little bit of Odell Beckham Jr. in his playing style.
