Reports in Italy claim Inter Milan have targeted Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario next summer, but Spurs’ asking price and tensions between Fabio Paratici and Nerazzurri president Beppe Marotta could hamper the Serie A club’s pursuit.
Inter Milan are expected to part ways with Jan Sommer at the end of the season, with Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport both reporting on Tuesday that the Nerazzurri have set their sights on Vicario as a potential replacement for the 2026-27 season.

According to two newspapers, the 29-year-old hopes to return to Italy at the end of the season. Inter Milan have been long-term admirers of the former Empoli star and had held talks to sign him in 2023 before the goalkeeper moved to north London.
Will Inter Milan spend 25 million or more for Vicario?

There are reports that signing Vicario would cost Inter Milan at least 25 million euros, or even 30 million euros, and there is no guarantee that the club’s owners will approve such an investment, as their market policy is to sign the most promising prospects at low salaries, as evidenced by recent acquisitions of the likes of Petar Sucic and Ange-Yoan Bonny.

However, as La Gazzetta dello Sport highlights, there could be another obstacle in Inter’s path, as Spurs director Fabio Paratici is unwilling to offer the Nerazzurri, and especially their president Beppe Marotta, any help.
The pair worked together at Juventus for several years until 2018, when Marotta left the club just months after Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival.

The Portuguese striker’s signing has strained relations between Paratici and Marotta, who joined Inter Milan just months after leaving Juventus.
“I have a good relationship with everyone at Juventus, except Paratici,” Marotta told Tuttosport in May 2021.
“The problem is on a human level, not a professional level.”
Tottenham rehired Paratici as sporting director last October after a 30-month ban, while Marotta served as Inter Milan’s chief executive for several years before becoming club president in 2024.
