Tuesday Bantering: Kazuma Okamoto – Yahoo Sports

Happy Tuesday. I played badminton this morning. I’m trying this game because I don’t think I’ll be playing squash for many more years. This is hard on the joints. But the problem for me is that badminton is not a workout. I played for an hour and a half and walked about 1,000 steps. Squash, if I play for an hour, I take about 5,000 steps.

Anyway….

Jay doesn’t get much news, he said for about the 60th time this offseason.

The team introduced Kazuma Okamoto to the media and us today. In a neat little story, Okamoto showed his daughter all the MLB logos and she chose the Blue Jays logo. Smart kid.

He said in English:

Hello everyone, my name is Kazuma Okamoto. Thank you very much for giving me this opportunity. I’m excited to join the Blue Jays. I will work hard every day and do my best for the team. Thank you for your support. Nice to meet you. Go Blue Jays.

He later spoke through an interpreter. I think it will take some time to learn English.

I’m looking forward to watching him play.

Beyond that, Ross Atkins said the team is still willing to add more players, but “we do feel good about our team. Additions at this point will start to reduce playing time for what we consider to be quality major league players.”

But Rose, I’d rather have a great player than a great player. I still want Bo back. I also want to watch Kyle Tucker play in the next few years.

I love this quote from Scott Boras:

Rose does seem to be one of the few general managers left.

MLB Trade Rumors conducted a poll asking the Jayhawks if they would add another bat before Opening Day, and 75 percent said yes. Of course, that doesn’t make any sense, but I guess they’re right.

I wish there were more Jays things to talk about.

Spread the love
