“I think the court was influenced by foreign interests and a much smaller political movement than people think,” Trump said at the start of his speech. “It was a small movement. I won by millions of votes. We won by a landslide. Even though the cheating was going on, and there was a lot of it, we were still in a landslide. It was too big to manipulate. But these people are obnoxious, ignorant, loud, and they’re very loud. I think some judges are afraid of that. They don’t want to do the right thing.”
During the question-and-answer portion of the press conference, Trump was asked what he meant by the suggestion that the justices were influenced by foreign interests.
“Well, I think foreign interests are represented by people who I think have undue influence. They have a lot of influence over the Supreme Court, whether it’s through fear or respect or friendship — I don’t know. But I know some people who are involved on the other side and I don’t like them. I think they’re real slimeballs,” Trump responded. That’s why I have so much respect for Justices Thomas, Alito, and Kavanaugh. “
Minutes later, a second reporter asked the president if he had evidence to back up his accusation.
“You’re going to find out, you’re going to find out,” Trump responded.
