Trump Gives Painful Response to Awkward Melania Question

President Donald Trump hastily dodged a simple question about whether he celebrated Valentine’s Day with his wife, Melania.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump was asked if he did anything special on Feb. 14 for the first lady to whom he has been married for more than 20 years, or if he bothered to send her flowers to celebrate the important day.

“I better not tell you, bye, everybody,” Trump said with a shy smile. “That’s the toughest question.”

Trump further shifted away from any public displays of affection for his wife, promoting her official role as first lady and her vanity documentary, Melania.

“I’m so proud that her movie was so successful. It was a huge success and she did a great job,” Trump said.

“She’s done some very important work. I think when you look at what she’s done with Russia, with Ukraine, with so many other things that she’s doing, you’ll ultimately see that she’s going to be one of the really great first ladies. She’s done a great job,” the president added. “She works very hard.”

Another reporter on Air Force One then helped change the subject by asking if Maryland Gov. Wes Moore had been invited to an upcoming National Governors Association event at the White House. Trump previously announced that Moore, the nation’s only black governor, was not invited to attend a typical bipartisan dinner with Colorado Democratic Gov. Jared Polis.

Trump claims Melania It was still a success despite a sharp drop in box office receipts in its third week of release.

The documentary, which tells the first lady’s story in the 20 days leading up to Trump’s inauguration last January, saw a 62% decline in viewers compared to the previous week, according to IMDbPro.

While the First Lady’s vanity project grossed more than $15.4 million at the box office, that’s a far cry from the $75 million Amazon spent to produce and promote the film. Amazon-MGM Pictures distribution chief Kevin Wilson insists Melania When it appears on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service, it will make up for its lackluster box office performance and help recoup some of its losses.

“Together, theatrical and streaming represent two distinct moments of value creation, enhancing the overall impact of the film,” Wilson said afterward Melania The box office plummeted 67% in its second week of release.
