“It is with a heavy heart that I inform you all that my husband Trey Johnson passed away suddenly and unexpectedly while on a short family trip,” she wrote. “His four children Chloe, EJ, EZ and Eden, extended family, friends and I are devastated and devastated.”

After emerging at Temple University, Johnson was drafted by Washington with the 31st overall pick in 1994. He played for Washington in 2000, Cleveland in 2001, and returned to Washington for his final year in 2002. The 6-foot-2, 328-pound guard was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1999.

After retirement, he became a history teacher at Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland. Recent health problems forced him to take time off, his wife said.
