‘Tough watch’ but ‘victory & progression exactly what United wanted’

Manchester United fans, we asked for your opinion following Tuesday night’s Scottish Cup win over Spartans.

Here’s what some of you had to say:

Eddie: Ammar Fattah will now miss the quarter-finals due to a ridiculous yellow card, which honestly isn’t fair. Other than that, I think United deserved the win and with a better performance, despite the surprising red card, the game would have been much more comfortable. We’re in the quarterfinals.

Ricky: You might think Spartans are a Premier League team but we were that bad. We can’t pass the ball and it’s time for Jim Goodwin to go or we’ll be relegated.

Kieran: The main goal was to pass and we did it. However, officials once again decided to make a game themed around them. Just minutes into the game, the referee gave Ammar Fattah a yellow card and then started dealing cards like it was burning a hole in his pocket. Although Iurie Iovu was foolish to make such a challenge, it was never a red card.

George: Championship wins and progress are what we want. It’s not the confidence-gaining result we wanted, but we can gain confidence from the fact that we played 80 minutes with 10 players. Let’s take that confidence into the Kilmarnock game and really get our season back on track.

Graham: That was a tough watch. It’s a great opportunity to build confidence, score goals and play well. Well, the game changes when the game is reduced to 10 men, but when you switch to long balls, your center forwards need to show basic skills such as holding the ball and challenging in the air. It’s disappointing to see so many opportunities squandered due to a lack of confidence.
