Sam Levitt has reportedly made a transfer decision.

Leavitt committed to LSU on Monday morning, according to multiple reports. He will join the Tigers after visits to Kentucky, Tennessee and Miami, as well as LSU.

The addition of Leavitt is a big deal for new LSU head coach Lane Kiffin, who didn’t add a marquee quarterback but is reportedly vying for several top transfers at the position.

According to On3’s rankings, Levitt is the highest-rated player in the transfer portal and one of the few remaining top quarterbacks.

The former Arizona State quarterback entered the transfer portal after his 2025 season was cut short by an ankle injury. He appeared in just seven games, completing 145 of 239 passes for 1,628 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions.

Leavitt led Arizona State to the Big 12 Championship and the College Football Playoff in 2024. He completed 216 of 350 passes for 2,885 yards and 24 touchdowns with just six interceptions while rushing for 443 yards and five touchdowns. The Sun Devils defeated Iowa State in the Big 12 Championship Game before losing to Texas in the College Football Playoff.

After missing all of November with an injury, Leavitt’s departure from ASU became inevitable based on comments from ASU coach Kenny Dillingham. The Sun Devils made quick moves in the transfer portal earlier this month to secure the signing of former Kentucky quarterback Carter Boley.

Leavitt transferred from Michigan State after the 2023 season and spent two seasons at Arizona State. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
