Titans trading T’Vondre Sweat in exchange for DE Jermaine Johnson per source

The Tennessee Titans have traded defensive tackle Tevondre Sweat to the New York Jets in exchange for edge linebacker Jermaine Johnson II, sources confirmed to The Tennessean on February 26.

According to sources, the deal is a direct player-to-player deal. Paperwork for the deal has been submitted but won’t be until the new league year.

Sweat, a former second-round pick of the Titans in 2024, has played in 29 games with the Titans over the past two seasons, including 28 starts. He finished with 85 tackles and three sacks.

Johnson, 27, had 13 sacks in four seasons in New York. He was a first-round pick in 2022 when the Jets were led by Titans coach Robert Saleh. Johnson made the Pro Bowl after the 2023 season with 7.5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss and seven pass breakups.
