west wing The 68-year-old alumnus turned himself in to the Albuquerque Police Department on Tuesday, January 13, after a warrant was issued for his arrest days earlier. The warrant accuses Bousfield of engaging in unlawful sexual conduct with two boys.
Bousfield was charged on Jan. 13 with two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse. Prosecutors are seeking to keep him detained while he awaits trial.
Bousfield faces another sexual abuse charge in a motion for pretrial detention filed on Jan. 14 and obtained by PEOPLE.
The motion states that “another victim’s father,” Colin Swift, reported to law enforcement on Jan. 13 that Bousfield allegedly sexually abused Swift’s daughter “several years ago” in Sacramento, California.
“At the audition [Busfield] At the B Street Threatre, the 16-year-old reported [Busfield] Kissed her, put his hands down her pants and touched her private parts,” according to the motion.
Bousfield allegedly “begged the family not to report him to law enforcement if he entered treatment,” and Swift, as a “therapist herself, believed this was the best course of action at the time.”
Busfield founded B Street Theater in 1986 as the Children’s Theater Company.

The actress is the wife of Melissa Gilbert, best known for her role in west wing and dream landHe allegedly engaged in unlawful sexual conduct with two 11-year-old twin boys, whose identities were not disclosed in an arrest warrant issued Jan. 9.
TMZ obtained a video of himself before he turned himself in to authorities. “I didn’t do anything,” he said.
“Hi, I’m Tim,” the video begins. “As I’m sure most of you who are watching this know, I was ordered to go to Albuquerque – which is where I am now. Friday night I got the call that I had to get a lawyer. I drove 2,000 miles to Albuquerque on Saturday. I got to face these lies. They were horrific.”
He continued, “These are lies, I didn’t do anything to those little boys and I’m going to fight it. I’m going to fight it with a great team and I’m going to be exonerated and I know I am because it’s all wrong and it’s all lies.”
he concluded. “So hang in there and hopefully I’ll be well and back to work soon. I love everyone’s support for me, thank you.”
In a motion for pretrial detention, authorities asked the judge to “detain” Busfield during the trial.
“Defendant’s repeated sexual contact with the victim’s private parts, coupled with intentional grooming behavior, resulted in an ongoing pattern of predatory behavior,” the motion states. “This conduct demonstrates that Defendant poses a serious and ongoing danger not only to the designated victim, but also to any children in his vicinity. Sexual exploitation of children reflects a gross disregard for the physical safety, emotional well-being, and developmental well-being of minors and demonstrates that this risk cannot be adequately mitigated through supervision or conditional release.”
In a Jan. 9 arrest warrant, the victim’s parents said the boys met Bousfield on the set of the Fox series, cleaning ladyAccording to the arrest warrant, Busfield will join the cast after serving as director on the second season, which is set to air in 2022. The investigation began on November 1, 2024, after a doctor at the University of New Mexico Hospital (UNMH) alerted police to alleged sexual abuse.
Officer Marvin Brown claimed Bousfield committed sex crimes against two boys, 11-year-old twins. One of the minors claimed the incidents began when he was 7 years old, according to the arrest warrant.

Attorneys advised the parents to take the children to the New Hampshire Health Institute in New Hampshire, where they said professionals advised the boys were “groomed,” according to the warrant. However, it was later determined that the case did not meet the authorities’ standards for acceptance at the time.
Later, in October 2025, the victim’s mother filed a police report and told Child Protective Services (CPS) that “her children all disclosed that from approximately November 2022 to the spring of 2024, Timothy was sexually abused.” However, she was told that because no physical abuse occurred, nothing could be done, according to the arrest warrant.
The mother told authorities on Sept. 2, 2025, and Sept. 22, 2025, that one of the boys told his counselor that Bousfield touched him inappropriately.
When one of the victims was 10 years old, his therapist diagnosed him with moderate post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety disorder after what he claimed was “inappropriate touching.”
The therapist said the child began “having nightmares about the director touching him and then being frightened awake” and claimed Bousfield “touched and rubbed his penis three or four times and appeared mortified,” according to the arrest warrant.
He also suffered from bedwetting and other behavioral issues, the warrant said.
During the investigation, Busfield allegedly told police that their parents were upset that their son was replaced by a younger actor who auditioned for the role, according to the arrest warrant. Shortly after, the actor received a call from Warner Bros. informing him that they were investigating a complaint.
A representative for Warner Bros. Television told People in a statement: “The health and safety of our cast and crew is always our top priority, especially the safety of minors on our productions. We take all allegations of misconduct very seriously and have systems in place to promptly and thoroughly investigate and take appropriate action when needed.” [We] has and will continue to cooperate with law enforcement. “
Busfield was reportedly ordered to pay a Minneapolis law firm $150,000 after it dismissed the law firm’s accusations.

No charges were filed and prosecutors “passed due to insufficient evidence,” the warrant said, adding that Bousfield “stated it was consensual.”
