MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards missed his second straight game Sunday with right foot soreness.
Edwards is considered day-to-day due to his availability. Coach Chris Finch said before the game that the injury “hasn’t calmed down enough for him to be able to play.”

Backup point guard Mike Conley also missed Minnesota’s game against Sacramento, the 19-year-old veteran’s second straight absence due to a right Achilles injury. A shorthanded backcourt means another start for Bones Hyland, who has recently been thrust into the rotation.
Edwards missed four games earlier this season with a strained right hamstring. The three-time All-Star ranks eighth in the NBA with 28.7 points per game, which is already the most he has missed since playing 72 games in the 2021-22 season.
With the Timberwolves playing a slower schedule, Edwards was able to get eight days of rest and only miss two games. Minnesota hosts Memphis on Wednesday.
