Oklahoma City Thunder guard Carson Wallace was honored by his high school over the weekend.

Wallace retired his No. 22 jersey in a ceremony at Richardson High School in Texas, where he spent four years.

Wallace had an outstanding career at the school, averaging 19.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and 6.1 assists as a senior. He was named the 2022 Texas Gatorade Basketball Player of the Year and a McDonald’s All-American before playing one season at the University of Kentucky.
In the 2023 NBA Draft, the Thunder selected Wallace with the 10th overall pick in the first round. He immediately made a splash in the league and was named to the All-Rookie Second Team in 2023. As a rookie, he did not miss a game in the regular season and averaged 6.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.

He was a key contributor to the Thunder’s championship run last season. Wallace played 26 minutes in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals against the Indiana Pacers, scoring 10 points and three steals.
This year he had another outstanding season, scoring 8.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 42.4% from the field. Wallace started 43 games this season and only missed three games.
The Thunder found a gem in Wallace, as he has been one of the league’s top defenders since he was drafted. He is a strong candidate to earn All-Defensive team honors for the first time in his career this season.
Wallace has two years left on his rookie contract. His contract is worth $5.8 million this season and is eligible for an extension in the offseason.
