The Denver Broncos paid a huge price for their 33-30 overtime victory over the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.
After the first postgame press conference, Broncos head coach Sean Payton returned to the podium to announce that starting quarterback Bo Nix suffered a season-ending ankle injury on the final play of the game.

Payton said a play occurred before Knicks threw a long pass to Marvin Mims, which resulted in a pass interference penalty that helped Denver win the game. On the play before that throw, Nix sprained his ankle when the quarterback ran to his left.

After that two-yard loss, Nix threw a long pass to Mims that resulted in a 30-yard DPI foul. Nix then took a knee and blocked the ball in the middle of the field, setting up Wil Lutz for a 23-yard game-winning field goal.
According to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis, Knicks will undergo surgery on Tuesday in Birmingham, Alabama, with Dr. Norman Waldrop. Dr. Waldrop is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in foot and ankle surgery.
