The Largest Buc-ee’s Ever Is Opening Soon—And It’s Not In Texas

By now, you’ve probably seen the Texas-born Buc-ee’s super-sized convenience store wonderland. Part gas station, part deli, part TJ Maxx, this legendary tourist stop is known for doing a few things real Well, there’s also the variety of options they offer you with everything you can dream of. (For example, some of my favorite beaded holiday earrings are from Buc-ee’s.)

We often rave about Buc-ee’s and their tender brisket, salty-sweet beaver nuggets, Dr Pepper Icees, and spotless restrooms. But soon, the Lone Star State will lose its status as home to the largest Buckeye base.

According to Sebastian Daily, Buc-ee’s plans to open the world’s largest convenience store (you read that right!) in Fort Pierce, Florida in 2027, with a whopping 76,245 square feet. For size comparison, this is approximately the area of 1.3 football fields.

The store in Fort Pierce, on the Atlantic coast of Palm Beach, will be built at the intersection of Interstate 95 and Inderio Road to serve drivers traveling on one of Florida’s busiest routes. The current Texas record holder is the store in Luling, which opened with 75,593 square feet. (Luling takes its name from a Buc-ee’s in Sevierville, Tenn.) If built as planned, the new Florida store will have 120 gas stations, 18 electric vehicle charging stations and more than 700 parking spaces for people to get out and enjoy 76,000 feet of Buc-ee’s retail magic.

There are currently two Buc-ee’s open in Florida, Daytona Beach and St. Augustine, with another planned for Ocala in the next few years. Plans for Fort Pierce’s newest site are still in the final stages of approval and must be confirmed by utility providers, according to The Sebastian Daily. Once approved, construction on the new site could take nearly two years, with the goal of a ribbon-cutting in late 2027 or early 2028.

Still, the prospect of economic growth in the region has Southerners excited about the possibility of bronze beavers arriving in towns. If similar to other recent Buc-ee’s stores, this new store will provide more than 175 jobs for local residents.

If you want to check out some world records on your next trip to Texas, head to the Luling location (which still holds that title) for brisket macaroni and cheese, then head to the Katy, Texas location to visit the world’s longest car wash, which features a 255-foot-long conveyor belt. Don’t forget your beaver nuggets!
