The Game Awards 2025 will take place on December 11, where the best games of the year will be selected and celebrated. But as always, the event will also feature a slew of game reveals and announcements. News is starting to trickle in about the games that will be unveiled at The Game Awards. Geoff Keighley also teased the big news last week by posting a photo of a mysterious art installation. Amid intense speculation about the statue, reports suggest that the statue refers to Larian Studios’ next game, which may be revealed at The Game Awards.
Game Awards Statue
The statue, which features an intricate demonic figure and a spider-like design with an eye in the center, surfaced last week in California’s Mojave Desert. Keighley, who serves as producer and presenter of The Game Awards, sparked speculation about the statue last week when he posted a photo of it.
Fans initially thought the statue might be a trailer for the next God of War, but that theory was put on hold after Santa Monica Studio director Corey Balog said that wasn’t the case. There is also speculation that the statue could be related to a new Diablo expansion pack or a new Lords of the Fallen game.
However, according to a report from MP1st, the promotional stunt is related to the Divinity series from Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian Studios. The Game Awards will reportedly make a big announcement about the Divinity series, possibly Larian’s next game.
The publication discovered three new trademarks for the Divinity franchise that were filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office on Tuesday. The three trademarks were filed for a new Divinity logo and two related icons – one of which bears a striking resemblance to a spider statue.
The trademarks all but confirm that the promotional statue is teasing a new Divinity game, which will likely be revealed at this week’s Game Awards. However, Larian said on Wednesday that there are currently no plans for any new Divinity: Original Sin 3 game. The studio said it will share details about its next project when it’s ready to showcase the work it’s been working on.
The last game in the “Divinity” series was “Divinity: Original Sin II” released in 2017. Larian also confirmed on Wednesday that Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition will be coming to PS5 soon.
