Will the Texas Longhorns men’s basketball team compete in the NCAA Tournament? If they did, it would be close. Very close. Based on projections from both major divisions, Texas will be one of the teams, if not the last one standing.
According to Bracketology of USA TODAY Sports, Texas is one of the “Final Four” and is expected to receive the No. 11 seed in the South Division. The Longhorns must play in the playoffs to reach the finals.

ESPN’s Joe Lunardi had a similar prediction. Lunardi said Texas is effectively the “last team” in the big dance.

But the Longhorns’ berth in March Madness isn’t a sure thing. These are just predictions. There are several conference championship games left today that will impact UT’s chances. If Dayton beats VCU to win the Atlantic 10 title, it would take a spot on the bubble and Texas would likely be eliminated.
We’ll get the final verdict tonight on CBS’s NCAA Tournament Draft show at 5 p.m. Central Time.
