Texas A&M’s future linebacker rotation will be in trouble after the 2026 season, as coach Mike Elko and new linebackers coach Travis Williams will need to replace senior Damien Sanford and transfer linebacker Ray Coney, who are expected to start for the Aggies this fall. While sophomore Noah Mikhail is expected to enter the rotation this season, the California native could end up being the face of the linebacker rotation in 2027.
However, Elko signed four linebackers in the 2026 class, including Daquevs Baker, Tank King and Storm Miller, who will compete for starting/rotation spots after the 2026 season. The Aggies have received a projection from blue-chip four-star linebacker Kaden Henderson in the 2027 class, with Henderson announcing his final projected roster spot Friday afternoon.

The trip to Florida State with the intent of signing future star linebacker Travis Williams has already had a major impact on the recruiting trail and has secured Henderson an official visit to College Station this summer on June 5 in hopes of sealing his commitment soon.
Late last month, Rivals insider Chad Simmons revealed that Ohio State and Texas A&M were the top two programs Henderson would consider, with Florida State, Florida State, Alabama and the Miami Hurricanes also being lightly involved.
While rival recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong believes the Aggies will deliver on his commitment, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Miami and Alabama will join Texas A&M as the five finalists before Henderson takes an official visit in the coming months.
