A 17-year-old boy died from a “single stab wound” from a “zombie knife”, a court heard.
Tristan Shae Kerr died at the scene when police were called to Lower Francis Street, Abbot Reed, Caerphilly, at around 17:45 GMT on Thursday.
Ricardo Elliott, 26, Connor Palfrey, 24, Elexi Manny, 24, and Georgie Mills, 18, have been charged with the teen’s murder.
All four appeared at Newport Court via video link but none entered guilty pleas.
Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke told the court, which included more than 20 people in the public gallery, that it was “vital” that proceedings were not interrupted.
“I am well aware that when this case came before the District Court there were very high emotions. [on Monday],” she said.
No bail application was made by Palfrey, Manny or Mills during the brief hearing, and Elliott’s bail application was also refused.
Wilson briefly outlined the prosecution case, saying the defendants were all present in the apartment where Tristan Cole was allegedly killed with a knife “9 to 10 inches (23-25 centimeters) long.”
Although an off-duty nurse was on scene, “his life could not be saved,” Wilson said.
The four defendants are scheduled to appear in court again on March 20, with a provisional trial date of August 3, expected to last four to six weeks.
