TCU player David Punch provides bulletin board material for Ohio State

It’s almost time to watch the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship, considered by many sports fans to be the highlight of the year. Unlike the previous three games, this time the Ohio State basketball team will be a part of March Madness.

One thing most teams and coaches want to avoid is not giving their opponents credit but providing bulletin board material before such an important game. Apparently, someone forgot to tell TCU forward David Punch that, because he dove into the depths of the clippings to make a pretty bold claim in response to a question from Adam Jardy of the Columbus Express.

“I think at the end of the day, we win nine out of ten games because of how physical and athletic we are as a team,” Punch told Jady. “I can’t wait to see how we perform.”

At 6-foot-7, Punch has the pedigree and skills to be the Horned Frogs’ best player. Since the 2025-26 season, he has averaged 14.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2 blocks per game in 29.7 minutes of playing time. He’s athletic and a two-way player who can also cause some problems on the defensive end. Punch continued to praise his team’s physicality as another reason TCU caused problems against the Buckeyes.

“We’re a very physical team and we have a lot of heart, more heart than a lot of people,” Punch said. “I think it’s a dedication to each other as well. We want to go out and play for each other. Size never really matters.”
