It’s been nearly two weeks since Savannah Guthrie’s mother was kidnapped, and at this moment, I feel like every second counts. That’s why all leads are being reviewed as the investigation becomes a race against time. Where is Nancy Guthrie? Is she okay?
Now, investigators have uncovered a major clue – a black glove found near Nancy Guthrie’s home, the New York Post reports. The gloves were similar to those worn by the suspect in surveillance video as he tried to turn off the camera outside Guthrie’s home. The glove was discovered after an extensive search of the nearby area and officers hope it will help them find the missing 84-year-old woman.

Law enforcement has reportedly received numerous tips since photos and videos of the suspect were first released. The FBI said in a statement: “We are grateful for the help and support we have received from the Tucson community.” They also emphasized that they are offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to Nancy Guthrie’s recovery.
In recent days, the case has been quite active. A man was detained in connection with the investigation but was later released without any charges being laid. The FBI also released surveillance photos and videos of potential subjects obtained through Nancy Guthrie’s doorbell and security cameras. The suspect was wearing a ski mask, jacket and gloves and was armed. Everything from the suspect’s clothing to the few visible identifying features were pursued as clues.
In fact, it’s reported that one of the other things police are looking at, besides the gloves, is the suspect’s gait. “I thought (the suspect’s) gait was interesting,” former CIA member and FBI agent Tracy Wald told RadarOnline.
“While (their) walking pattern is not too unique, I do think the FBI could focus on that,” they added.
The image will help law enforcement “build a body profile,” where they will focus on everything from “shoe tags” to “shoe size, gender, height and weight.”
Recent reports from TMZ indicate that law enforcement believes the kidnappers are from the Tucson area and were behind the first ransom note sent to TMZ and two local TV stations. In the note, the kidnappers promised to return Nancy Guthrie within 12 hours after receiving the ransom, which was set at $6 million. However, they reportedly did not provide proof of life.
Nancy Guthrie and her late husband, Charles, had three children: Savannah, Annie and Camron. The siblings have been active on social media for the past week and a half, asking for help and pleading with would-be kidnappers.
They also said they would pay for her safe return. Savannah Guthrie said in a message posted on Saturday, February 7th. “We received your message and we understand. We are begging you now to return our mother to us so we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we can have peace. This is of great value to us and we will pay the price.”
