Super Bowl LX was second most-watched in history

The Seattle Seahawks’ victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60 was the second-most-watched game in the game’s history and NBC’s most-watched show, dating back 100 years to 2026.

NBC Sports’ coverage of Super Bowl LX set a media record, with 137.8 million viewers tuning in during the second quarter as the Seattle Seahawks led the New England Patriots 6-0, setting the highest ratings in U.S. television history.

According to the official live + same-day Nielsen Big Data + panel, the Seahawks’ 29-13 victory over the Patriots averaged 124.9 million viewers on NBC, Peacock, Telemundo, NBC Sports Digital and NFL+, ranking as the second-most-watched program in U.S. history (behind Super Bowl LIX on Fox in February 2025).

“The Super Bowl and the NFL once again drew huge audiences across the NBC broadcast networks, Peacock and Telemundo and provided an unprecedented lead for our primetime coverage in Milan,” said Rick Cordella, president of NBC Sports. “The Super Bowl and the Olympics are two of the most influential events in the world, and we salute our talented production, technology and announcing teams for delivering best-in-class presentations for our viewers, stations and partners.”

Super Bowl LX capped off a milestone 20th season for NBC Sports’ Sunday Night Football, which reached record numbers (23.5 million viewers) and remained the No. 1 primetime show for an unprecedented 15th consecutive season.
