Cook County, Illinois. – A 23-year-old suburban man faces felony charges after allegedly returning to his neighbor’s apartment with a machete and entering the home after being told they didn’t want to hang out.

The incident happened around 12:10 a.m. Saturday in the 4000 block of Bonhill Drive in the unincorporated town of Palatine.

According to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, Kevin Petron-Ladino had earlier knocked on a neighbor’s door asking to hang out. Four people inside refused and asked to meet next time.
Patron Ladino then returned with a machete, stabbed the door and entered the apartment. Everyone in the car escaped and fortunately no one was injured.

Responding officers reportedly found Patron-Ladino holding a machete and took him into custody. He was charged Sunday with felony home invasion and multiple misdemeanor counts of assault.

Patron-Ladino appeared in court Tuesday and was ordered to remain in the Cook County Jail.
