Mike Tomlin and Mike McCarthy are two of the most successful NFL head coaches this century. Both have won Super Bowls, Tomlin has 200 career wins and counting, while McCarthy has 185.
McCarthy even won a Super Bowl at Tomlin’s expense in early 2011, when his Green Bay Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25 in Super Bowl 45 with Aaron Rodgers beating Ben Roethlisberger.

Neither team has returned to the Super Bowl since, although Rodgers and Tomlin have a chance to make it this year with the AFC open.
Tomlin notched his 200th career win last week and extended his historic unbeaten streak to 19 seasons, and McCarthy praised his former rival on “The Pat McAfee Show” Wednesday.
“I’m so happy to see Mike get the recognition and love he deserves,” McCarthy said. “To me, that’s the reality of who he is as a coach. To do that in 19 seasons is unbelievable. You want your leader to be able to do that. … In my mind, he’s a Hall of Famer and I’m happy to see him get the appropriate recognition.”

Tomlin has received a lot of praise and respect over the past few days after many fans and media members called on the Steelers to fire him. This is life in the NFL.
The veteran coach helped turn his team around and get them back on track after a mid-season slump that nearly derailed their playoff hopes. They have won three games in a row and are playing their best football in the biggest game of the year.
If Pittsburgh keeps this up, Tomlin has a good chance of earning his first playoff win in nearly a decade next month.
