Star Wars Jedi: Survivors is finally coming to last-generation consoles. The action-adventure game, originally released in 2023 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X, will be released on PS4 and Xbox One on September 17, publisher Electronic Arts announced on Tuesday. Pre-orders for Last Stand on last-gen consoles are now open. The PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game will feature optimized visuals to provide acceptable performance. Star Wars Jedi: Survivors had serious performance and technical issues at launch on PC and current consoles.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivors is coming to PS4 and Xbox One
Developer Respawn Entertainment has confirmed the PS4 and Xbox One release date for Star Wars Jedi: Survivors and revealed pre-order details for the game. Players who pre-order “Bad Survivor” on PS4 and Xbox One will receive free in-game items.
According to Respawn, older versions of the game feature “various optimizations designed to maximize the capabilities of the console’s hardware.” Getting the game to run optimally on last-gen console hardware will be a top priority for developers, especially since Star Wars Jedi: Survivors suffered numerous technical issues at launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
At the time, Respawn had to apologize for the game’s PC performance issues, and the studio subsequently released multiple updates to optimize the game for all platforms.
The developer also announced on Tuesday that the PC version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivors will receive an update in the coming weeks. “This patch will enhance the game’s technical performance, controls, and more, as well as various quality-of-life improvements,” the developer said.
EA first confirmed that Star Wars Jedi: Survivors would be coming to PS4 and Xbox One during its earnings call last August. The older-gen version of the game was in the early stages of development at the time.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivors first releases on April 28, 2023 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. The game is a direct sequel to 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and follows Jedi Knight Cal Kestis as he escapes the clutches of the Empire.
