The top defender in college football is headed to the NWSL.
Stanford Cardinals star linebacker Elise Evans has signed a three-year contract with the Chicago Stars through 2028.

The California native has appeared in 85 games at Stanford since 2022, starting each time. She is also a regular and key contributor to USYNT at multiple levels.
She is rated as the top defender in the NCAA and is widely viewed as a future member of the USWNT, according to TopDrawerSoccer.
“Elise is a great defender who can also run a threatening offense when needed,” said Chicago Stars general manager Richard Feitz. “We are delighted that Elise is joining the club and starting her career with the Stars.”
