Spring Training Game Thread #15: Milwaukee Brewers (7-7) vs. Seattle Mariners (4-10)

Today’s spring training matchup pits the Brewers against the Seattle Mariners, who were one win shy of the World Series last season.

On the mound tonight for Milwaukee is left-hander Kyle Harrison, who was acquired from the Red Sox in the offseason in exchange for a contract led by infielder Caleb Durbin. This will be Harrison’s first start of the spring. As I wrote a few weeks ago, and Kurt Hogg wrote this week, Harrison made some changes in the offseason, and that should show today.

Also scheduled to pitch for the Brewers are RHP Jacob Misiorowski and LHP Jared Koenig. Seattle starts 2023 American League All-Star George Kirby.

Milwaukee has a number of players on today’s roster who are expected to play roles with major league clubs this year. Garrett Mitchell, Jake Bowles and Christian Yelich make up the first third of the lineup. Andrew Vaughn enters today’s game with a 1.085 OPS this spring and he’s hitting the ball. Vaughn was followed by David Hamilton (who played shortstop today), Blake Perkins and rookie Brock Wilken. Rounding out the lineup are Jeferson Quero and non-roster invitee Ethan Murray, who starts today at No. 2 without Brice Turang.

In other roster news, the Brewers just optioned RHP Coleman Crow to Triple-A Nashville and reassigned LHP Tate Kuehner and Drew Rom to minor league camp.

If you want to tune in to today’s game, you can catch it on WTMJ 620 and the Brewers Radio Network. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:10 p.m.
