A former first-choice running back for the Spartans has entered one of the top five programs in the country through the transfer portal.
Michigan State football transfer edge rusher Stone Chaney has committed to Memphis. Chaney announced his commitment to the Tigers via a social media post on Monday.

Chaney, a former three-starter in the Class of 2024, came to MSU as the preferred backup. Originally from Novi, Michigan, he starred at Detroit Catholic Central, a Michigan high school powerhouse.
At Michigan State, Chaney appeared in just one game over two seasons – recording two tackles against Prairie View A&M during the 2024 season. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
