Michigan State picked up two non-conference wins last week, beating Toledo earlier this week and then beating Oakland on Saturday. With two wins last week, the Spartans improved to 11-1 overall on the year.

Among Big Ten teams in this week’s poll, Michigan State trails only Michigan (No. 2) and Purdue (No. 5). Nebraska (No. 13), Illinois (No. 20) and Iowa State (No. 25) are the only Big Ten teams in this week’s rankings.

Michigan State is off this week and will be back on the court after Christmas. The Spartans’ next game will be against Cornell on December 29 at the Breslin Center in East Lansing, Michigan.
