Slot to hold talks with Salah about facing Brighton

Liverpool boss Arne Slott said he will discuss Mohamed Salah’s participation in Saturday’s game against Brighton on Friday morning.

Salah said he was “abandoned” by the club following Saturday’s draw with Leeds United and was subsequently left out of Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Inter Milan.

The 33-year-old Salah also claimed that he had “earned his place” in the team when he was interviewed by the media in the mixed area at Elland Road.

“I’m going to be talking to Mo this morning,” Slaughter said.

“The outcome of the conversation determines how things develop. [on Saturday]”.

Liverpool face Brighton at Anfield on Saturday at 15:00 GMT as they look to bounce back from back-to-back draws in the league.

The Egyptian striker, who has scored 250 goals in 420 games for the Reds, has not featured in two of Liverpool’s last three Premier League games.

His last appearance came as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Sunderland on December 3, and his last start came in a Champions League defeat to PSV Eindhoven on November 26.
