SLO airport is losing flights to 2 destinations in 2026. Here’s what to know

Flight options for local travelers will change in 2026.

The San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport will stop or reduce nonstop flights to two desert destinations this spring, airport representatives told the Tribune.

By May, the airport will offer nonstop flights to eight U.S. destinations, with direct flights to Dallas, Denver and more.

Here are the changes to air travel in San Luis Obispo County this year:

When do nonstop flights from SLO to Las Vegas end?

Alaska Airlines resumed nonstop flights from San Luis Obispo to Las Vegas in early October.

The airline will end daily nonstop flights from SLO to Harry Reid International Airport on Monday, April 20, said Joe Goble, public information specialist for the San Luis Obispo County Airport Department.

Goble said in an email that as of Wednesday, Jan. 7, the airport had not determined “if or when seasonal Las Vegas flights may resume later in 2026.”

Courtney Pene, deputy director of the SLO County Airport, told the Tribune in May that “the airport would like to see Alaska Airlines make this nonstop permanent and open year-round.”

Can I still fly direct to Phoenix?

American Airlines plans to reduce daily nonstop flights to Phoenix this spring.

Currently, travelers can take four nonstop flights daily from San Luis Obispo to Arizona.

Starting Saturday, May 3, SLO Airport will only have three direct flights per day to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Goble said.

He did not specify which flights would be cut, but Google Flights said the 9:45 a.m. American Airlines flight from SLO to Phoenix will no longer be available.

According to the American Airlines website, one-way flights from San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport start at $376.

Will SLO Airport have flights to new destinations in 2026?

As of Thursday, January 8, there are no new nonstop flights scheduled for 2026 from SLO Airport.

“As for new nonstop destinations, we have been in active discussions with our airline partners but have nothing else to announce at this time,” Goble told the Tribune.
