The 35th overall pick will consult with medical professionals to determine the next steps in his treatment plan. The team is expected to provide further updates on his condition following his medical evaluation.
Bloom, who signed a two-way contract, saw limited playing time with the Sixers, appearing in 11 games and 55 minutes total under coach Nick Nurse. On November 25, he played more than 10 minutes in a game and scored 4 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
The 23-year-old averaged 21.8 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.2 steals in 26 games for the Blue Jackets while shooting 46.3% from the field. On January 16, he broke out with a G League season-high 50 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists.
Bloom and the organization will certainly be hoping for a quick recovery after Saturday’s setback. He’s had a productive year and hopes to get back on the court soon.
