PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers will be without one of their backups for head coach Nick Nurse as they prepare to take on the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night.
Quentin Grimes will miss his second straight game with a sprained right ankle that appears to have been sustained in Monday’s loss to the Charlotte Hornets. The fifth-year guard out of Houston is averaging 13.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 34.4 percent from the field in his first full season with the Sixers after being acquired at the 2025 deadline.

When Grimes is out, the 76ers will have Paul George available. The nine-time All-Star is listed as probable for this game as he deals with a left knee injury, so having him available would be a good thing for the Sixers.
With Grimes sidelined, the Sixers will likely turn to Jared McCain and reward him with more minutes after the second-year guard broke out on Tuesday against the Milwaukee Bucks. Philadelphia needs McCain to keep going these days.
