The Philadelphia 76ers will begin a three-game series against the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday without Joel Embiid dealing with a right knee injury and right shin soreness. It’s the first night of a back-to-back, and Philadelphia will travel to Minnesota to face the Timberwolves on Sunday, with the Sixers looking to get off to a good start on the road.
In terms of starting lineup against the pesky Pelicans, the 76ers will hire veteran Andre Drummond to start in Embiid’s place. That’s been the case for much of the season, as head coach Nick Nurse likes to use Adem Bonnar in a backup role.

Drummond, who is averaging 7.0 points and 8.7 rebounds per game this season, will start alongside Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Kelly Oubre Jr. and Dominique Barlow.
The Sixers and Pelicans will tip off from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans at 7 p.m. ET.
