The Los Angeles Rams are one of them. Head coach Sean McVay recently revealed that the team was close to trading Davante Adams , sparking a lot of interest and speculation.

Soon after, troubling news surfaced involving another of the team’s star receivers. Puka Nacua faces charges of making anti-Semitic remarks and assaulting a woman, charges his lawyers and representatives deny.
Nakua has since checked into a rehabilitation facility. Combined with McVay’s comments about giving up on a potential trade for Adams, this situation raises an important question:

Nakua was set to receive a substantial contract extension, and the suddenness of the situation — followed by his decision to enter rehab — added a layer of concern. That said, the Rams may still support him in dealing with personal matters.

Even so, the organization must at least consider the possibility of a trade. Would the Rams have seriously pursued Adams if those events hadn’t happened?
Several superstar wide receivers in the NFL have experienced steep declines, especially after receiving big contracts. A recent example is Antonio Brown.
The former Pittsburgh Steelers standout became one of the league’s most compelling success stories. Like Nakua, Brown entered the NFL as a late-round pick and developed alongside a future Hall of Fame quarterback.
He quickly became one of the elite receivers in the game. However, after renewing his contract in 2017, his career began to unravel.

In 2019, Brown faced multiple lawsuits over disturbing and erratic behavior. The situation escalated further when a Miami woman accused him of assault.
Brown would play just 15 more regular-season games before abruptly exiting MetLife Stadium in 2021, marking a rapid decline from what was once a Hall of Fame-caliber career.
To be clear, Nakua is not Antonio Brown. Still, the Rams will have to keep a close eye on the situation when the headlines start moving in this direction.
There is some optimism: Nacua’s decision to enter a rehab facility shows his willingness to address off-field issues. Ultimately, however, the Rams will need to evaluate how the situation develops before committing to a long-term extension or seriously exploring a trade.
