Luis Enrique is expected to start at right midfield, replacing Dumfries. According to Sky Sport Italia and La Gazzetta dello Sport, Petar Susic is competing with Henrikh Mkhitaryan for the midfield spot, with Carlos Augusto being preferred over Federico Di Marco.

Italian media claim that Marcus Thuram will start on the bench to free up attacking space for Pio Esposito and Lautaro Martinez.
