Search underway for ‘Today’ host Savannah Guthrie’s mother, who disappeared in Arizona

A massive search is underway for the 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie. today Show co-host Savannah Guthrie was reported missing in Arizona on Sunday.

According to a missing persons flyer distributed by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, Nani Guthrie was last seen around 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 31 at her home near East Skyline Boulevard and North Campbell Boulevard, north of Tucson. She was reported missing at noon on February 1.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said at a news conference Sunday night that the scene at her home caused “serious concern” and prompted local law enforcement to take immediate action. Multiple teams responded to the scene, including homicide detectives. Nanos said foul play cannot be ruled out at this time.

Search and rescue ground crews and dog teams have been searching on foot, while drones, helicopters and planes have been searching from the air.

Nanos added that Nancy Guthrie “had no cognitive issues at all, she was very alert and very clear-headed” but had some physical health issues. The missing persons flyer also described Nancy as 5 feet 5 inches tall, with brown hair, blue eyes and weighing about 150 pounds. It’s unclear what type of clothing she might be wearing.

Savannah Guthrie was out Monday today broadcast of the program.

Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom. We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900.”
