The NCAA transfer portal will close on January 16th after opening on January 2nd. Former Arizona State and Michigan State quarterback Sam Leavitt is a potential transfer target for Tennessee.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound signal-caller appeared in 24 games with 20 starts for the Spartans and Sun Devils from 2023-25. He completed 376 of 612 pass attempts for 4,652 yards and 36 touchdowns and 11 touchdowns while adding 816 yards and 10 rushing touchdowns on 196 attempts.

Leavitt leads Arizona State to the 2024 College Football Playoff. After the 2024 season, he became ASU’s record holder for total freshman offense yards (3,328 yards) and the second-leading freshman passing yardage record holder in program history (2,885 yards).
As a redshirt sophomore in 2025, Leavitt passed for 1,628 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions while rushing for 306 yards and five touchdowns.
He is from West Linn High School in Oregon. Leavitt committed to Washington State on June 17, 2022, and decommitted from the Cougars on December 14, 2022.
He entered the transfer portal on January 2.
