Salah ‘can’t complain’ and ‘needs to be gone’ – the case against

Some newspapers on Tuesday reported on the Salah saga [BBC]

We ask for your thoughts on Mohamed Salah’s comments, their consequences, his omission from Liverpool’s Champions League squad and the future.

Here are some points you may not be too happy with about the Egypt international’s behavior:

Ian: Who does Salah think he is saying he has earned a place in the team? Competition spots are fought for one after another, and if the coach thinks you are not giving your best, you will be eliminated. In my opinion, Salah should be sold in January before he upsets the team further.

Andrew: It was the right choice, he is no bigger than the club and seems to be past his best this season. Others may also be sidelined for a game or two, but with no centre-back options available, selling Salah and bringing in Guhi is a must.

John: Salah is in poor form, so Slott and Liverpool are right to give up on him. What he should be doing is working hard to get his position back, not sulking.

Heidi: Not the Liverpool way. Set an example and find the spark when your form slips. Ignite your legacy and play in the Saudi Pro League? Well, Ian Rush and Roger Hunter deservedly maintained their deserved goalscoring record.

Keith: Salah can’t complain, he did it himself. Not content with the pain endured by Liverpool fans, he chose to add an embarrassing sideshow to the mix.

Stephen: It’s a shame these things need to be kept in-house, but he knows it. No one is bigger than LFC. He must know that his form this season has fallen off a cliff. He should publicly apologize for his remarks. Does he really want to play in the Saudi league now? I would be very surprised if there was interest from elsewhere? He needs to think very carefully about what he is doing and the consequences. Mo, you are bigger and better than that – you and your agent know it, and so does everyone else.

John: It was probably the right decision for Salah to issue a public apology to the fans, team-mates, Tigers and the club. He made a huge mistake and would have almost certainly played his last game for the Reds had he not withdrawn completely. It would be a sad end to a brilliant career at Liverpool.

paul: I love Mo, just like every other Liverpool fan. But his behavior needs to be held accountable at the African Cup of Nations. Otherwise, this will lead to the same player power chaos that United have experienced over the past few years. If he returns after this, current and future players will think they can get away with qualifying for the LFC.

asian joint committee: A pointless and inappropriate tantrum. Slaughter is looking for a solution, and at the moment he’s trying alternatives on the right side. Salah is heading to the Africa Cup of Nations. It makes sense to me. Don’t be sulky anymore.
