Alessio Romagnoli appeared to bid farewell to Lazio fans after tonight’s 0-0 draw with Lecce, fueling reports of an imminent move to Al Sadd.
The defender is in the starting XI at the Esplanade and manager Maurizio Sarri insists he “can’t do without” the player if he is available.

He played the full 90 minutes, but after the final whistle, the entire team walked to the away court to pay tribute to the away fans.

Remarkably, Romagnoli looked emotional and spoke to several Ultra fan leaders, shaking hands with them and passing around his jersey.
The centre-back is a lifelong Lazio supporter and will move to the Stadio Olimpico as a free agent when his Milan contract expires in 2022.

His team-mate Adam Marusic later spoke to Sky Sport Italia and was specifically asked if this felt like a farewell for Romagnoli.
“From what I’ve seen I think it’s a farewell but we’ll see in the next few days what decision the club makes.”
It was not unlike the scene in which Matteo Guendouzi saluted supporters at the Olympic Stadium just hours before his move to Fenerbahce.
