Chris Kavanagh will officiate the game at the Vitality Stadium, with Dan Cook and Ian Hussin serving as his assistants. The fourth official will be Lewis Smith.

Paul Tierney will then serve as VAR, and Mark Perry will serve as assistant VAR for this game.

Kavanagh has refereed Arsenal relatively frequently, having refereed two games involving the Gunners in the Premier League this season.

The previous two games had produced mixed results, with Arsenal losing to Liverpool with Kavanagh officiating, but then beating Burnley. To be fair, neither game was particularly down to the referee, with no penalties or red cards and just a few yellow cards for each team.

There was more controversy between the referee and Arsenal last season when he dismissed Declan Rice for a “delayed restart” against Brighton, a rule that has been all but forgotten this season.

During his career, Kavanagh refereed 26 Arsenal games, of which the Gunners won 13, drew 7 and lost 6.
