Two Hindi films originally set for release this week have diverged in their distribution plans. Parineeti Chopra’s investigative thriller Reporting Live will premiere on Netflix on October 9 as scheduled, while the folk-horror film Bokshi has been pushed from October 9 to December 4 following a delay in its certification process.

Reporting Live stars Parineeti Chopra as Samdhya, an ambitious journalist who teams with a reluctant cameraman, Vinod, played by Deven Bhojani, to expose an illegal sand-mining empire. The film is directed by Dhruv Tripathi and produced by Partha Kiran Thakur and Joshua Shirsath.

The supporting cast includes Amol Palekar, Adil Hussain, and Shekhar Suman. The trailer, released in early October, shows Samdhya and Vinod pursuing the story despite threats to their lives.

Reporting Live is produced by Partha Kiran Thakur and Joshua Shirsath, with writing credits for Dhruv Tripathi and Mihir Jadhav.

Bokshi, directed by Bhargav Saikia, was originally scheduled for theatrical release on October 9. The film follows Anahita, a traumatized teenager who confronts ancient witchcraft during a school trip into the remote forests of Sikkim.

The cast includes Prasanna Bisht, Mansi Multani, Dagi Ngomdir, Siddharth Shaw, and Shernaz Patel.

The Central Board of Film Certification referred Bokshi from its Examining Committee to the Revising Committee for further review over the film’s supernatural themes, depiction of witchcraft, gruesome violence, and bloodshed. The Revising Committee has now cleared the film with an A certificate and minimal modifications.

Lorien Motion Pictures announced the revised release date on October 8. The production banner stated: ‘To ensure a seamless theatrical rollout, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the release of BOKSHI in India, originally set for 9 October 2026’.

The statement continued: ‘BOKSHI will now release in select cinemas on 4 December 2026’.

The makers said the additional time will allow for a full-scale theatrical campaign and wider promotional efforts.

Bokshi has already screened at several international festivals, including the Rotterdam International Film Festival, SXSW Sydney, and the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival.

As of October 8, Reporting Live remains set for its October 9 Netflix premiere. Bokshi will arrive in select Indian cinemas on December 4.
