The New England Patriots and their leading receiver from last year are parting ways, according to a new report.
According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the Patriots will waive wide receiver Stefon Diggs at the start of the league year.

Last season, Diggs caught 85 passes for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns, helping the Patriots reach Super Bowl XL.
Diggs, who will be 33 next season, signed a three-year, $63.5 million contract with the New England Patriots last summer, but will have a salary cap hit of $26 million through the 2026 season.
MassLive’s Mark Daniels suggested the Patriots wanted Diggs to restructure his contract for the upcoming season, but the Patriots reportedly declined.
Diggs thanked the Patriots in a social media post, adding, “We will always be a family.”
Diggs got into legal trouble last year after his former chef claimed he hit her in the face and choked her before allegedly throwing her on a bed on December 2.

Diggs has pleaded not guilty to felony strangulation or suffocation charges and misdemeanor assault and battery charges.
