Fichayes claims in a recent report that Real Madrid have set their sights on Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes. It has been mentioned that Los Blancos are considering a move for the Portugal international next year.
Fernandes’ outstanding performance in English football
Fernandes has enjoyed an impressive season with the Manchester club, putting in a string of impressive performances in the heart of the park. The 31-year-old has scored five goals and provided seven assists in as many games in 18 appearances for Manchester United this season.

The Portuguese genius is proving his worth in the opposition half with 2.56 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. His field goal percentage was 23.8%. Fernandes has a pass completion rate of 78.8% in England’s First Division (statistics from fbref.com) and even distributes possession relatively well.
His current contract at Old Trafford expires in the summer of 2027, which could open the door for Real to sign him on the cheap at the end of the season.

Is Fernandez a good choice for Real Madrid coach Xavi Alonso?
Fernandez can shoot from distance and is a great ball-carrier at his feet. He has an eye for making some decisive passes in the final third and is capable of scoring and creating goals from midfield.

The Portugal international plays primarily as a midfielder but can also operate as an attacking midfielder if required. However, should Real Madrid sign him next year, only time will tell if he can replicate his fine form in La Liga.
We can expect Fernandez to bring more quality and depth to Real Madrid boss Xavi Alonso’s midfield. He is fully capable of earning a regular starting spot at the Madrid club in the coming years.
At 31, Fernandez is approaching his prime years, making him a good option for the Madrid giants to pursue in January or at the end of the season. However, Alonso must be given some time to adapt to life in the Spanish capital before he can get the most out of the experienced playmaker.
