The legendary Baltimore Ravens quarterback is one of the best passing quarterbacks in purple, winning a Super Bowl ring with the Ravens while throwing one of the best deep passes in the NFL.
However, Flacco never made the Pro Bowl with Baltimore.
This isn’t necessarily shocking. He played during the quarterback era, especially in the AFC with the likes of Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Philip Rivers and Ben Roethlisberger.
But it’s true, and it seems unlikely to change at this point in his career.

However, Flacco was named an alternate to the AFC Pro Bowl roster on Friday.
Flacco, 40, was a substitute for the game. He will join Browns rookie Shaddell Sanders, who has also been tabbed as the AFC’s backup quarterback.
Flacco has started 10 games this season between the Browns and Bengals. His team is 2-8 in those games. Flacco had 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
Apparently this is a quirk in the system. With so many other quarterbacks unavailable, there’s only so much the NFL can do.

First, it has the support of the popular and polarizing Sanders. Now it captures Flacco, and getting him to the Pro Bowl is a career achievement honor after all.

Yes, Flacco and Sanders both started the season with the Browns. Really comedic.
At least Ravens fans can feel good about Flacco. When his career ended, he got one last bit of recognition.
