After Rasheed Shahid’s 58-yard punt return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to help the Seahawks win Thursday night, he said the entire punt return unit was confident in what it could accomplish against the Rams.
“Based on the off-field position, we knew we were going to be able to get a return,” Shahid said. “We focused all week on the left side coming back. We knew there was a weakness on their special teams.”

Shahid arrived in Seattle in November, when the Seahawks traded fourth- and fifth-round draft picks to the Saints for him. Shahid said he immediately knew this team was special.
“The belief this team has is amazing. I feel like that’s how we’ve been able to accomplish all these amazing things,” Shahid said.
In a season where the NFL has several big moves ahead of the trade deadline, Shahid’s arrival in Seattle could have the biggest impact on the playoff race. He had one of his best performances in one of the biggest games of the year.
