Maybe the Rams will move back to St. Louis.
I’m kidding. (I think.) The Rams’ 10th anniversary return to Los Angeles is currently marred by a legal dispute between team owner Stan Kroenke and the city of Inglewood.

As Bloomberg.com explains, the fight begins Placement of city billboards SoFi Stadium and surrounding areas. After Kroenke and his company lost that round, the fight turned into a claim that Inglewood owed Kroenke $400 million for roads, sewers, other infrastructure, police and fire protection. The city claims there is no binding agreement requiring the payment of any such amount.
At first glance, this feels like a bad-faith lawsuit, concocted after Kroenke lost the billboard case. This is what the super-rich tend to do when they don’t get their way, they’re happy to pay hourly legal fees in the name of proving a point.
Kroenke moved the Rams from Missouri to a privately funded stadium in California, sparking litigation that ultimately led to the Rams and other NFL teams paying $790 million to settle claims.
For now, Kroenke and Inglewood have no choice but to find a way to coexist. Unless Kroenke plans to sell the stadium and surrounding development to the Chargers or someone else, he’s not going to back down on his bet and leave town.
